IISc Bangalore to Set Up Artificial Intelligence-Machine Learning Centre, to Offer UG, Certificate Courses; Details Here


Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has collaborated with Kotak Mahindra Bank to offer Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI-ML) Centre at IISc Campus in Bangalore. With this, the institute will offer various UG, and certificate courses in the field of machine learning. 

Under this collaboration, IISc Bangalore will set up an approximately 1,40,000 square feet AL-ML Center on its campus ground for students. The center will offer various short-term as well as long-term courses in Artificial Intelligence Domain. 

As per the official statement, eligible students will be offered with Bachelor’s, Master’s, diploma as well as certificate courses in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, fintech, reinforcement learning, image processing, and computer vision.

Referring to the initiative, Prof Govindan Rangarajan, Director, Indian Institute of Science, said, “IISc continues to deliver on its mandate to provide advanced scientific and technological research and education".

"It has partnerships with forward-thinking institutions such as Kotak Mahindra Bank that will help us to scale up substantially and position India as a deep tech innovation hub. The future is exciting and we are delighted to welcome Kotak Mahindra Bank on board" he added. 

IISc Bangalore along with Kotak Mahindra Bank will establish the center under its KMBL’s CSR project on Education & Livelihood. The project will promote research and innovation in the field of AI and Machine Learning. 

The main aim of the program is to develop a talent pool in the country and offer solutions to problems related to AI and ML domains. Under this program. the students will be prepared to meet the industry standard and fulfill the future requirement, the official statement added. 

Adding to the statement, Rohit Rao, Joint President & Group Chief CSR Officer, Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited, stated that the center will provide both academic courses as well as research & innovation courses to students. 

"The center is envisaged to be the “Gangotri” of advanced sciences encompassing education, research, and innovation in AI and machine learning to develop the next generation of leaders in the areas of IT and robotics and champion India’s technology advancement" he added.
