IIM Udaipur Incubation Center Aims to Empower Female Founders of Start-ups

New Delhi: IIM Udaipur’s Incubation Center has inaugurated the first batch of the 12-week Women-in-tech Accelerator Program, that aims to empower female founders of the startups.

The Incubation Center of IIM Udaipur has launched the accelerator programme to encourage and support women’s participation in tech, data, and management careers.

The Department of Science and Technology has powered this 12-week participant-centered accelerator program, which will primarily focus on supporting highly innovative and scalable women-led tech ventures.

The course has been specifically designed for female founders who aspire to acquire the tools, knowledge, and connections to take their startup to the next level.

Each qualifying startup will receive up to ₹50,000 in cash prize, extensive training, mentoring and technical guidance, alongwith introductions to corporate leaders and industry experts, networking opportunities with potential investors, and ongoing advisory support for next 12 months.

Interested start-ups can check the admission criteria and apply to the IIM Udaipur’s first batch of the Women-in-Tech Accelerator program

According to the IDC, only 24% of women hold senior leadership positions in technology. As a result, the accelerator program is based on the premise that gender diversity in the workplace will add enormous value to the business, the economy, and society.

Speaking at the launch of the WiT program, Suresh Dhaka, CEO at IIM Udaipur’s Incubation Center said that the absence of adequate diversity, equality, and inclusivity in the global technology sector, specifically in terms of women’s representation, has become a mainstream concern.

The Incubation Center encourages more women to join in technical roles, where they can have a better grasp of their clients, the best business model for their company, different sources of finance, and knowledge on how to build good commercial partnerships.

The IC is hoping to scale a total of 15 women-led technology firms through this Wit program, Dhaka said.
