Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Trichy has officially concluded the schedule for the first batch of the long-duration postgraduate certificate programme in Strategic Human Resource management (SHRM).
The postgraduate course in SHRM at IIM Trichy had 90 students belonging to diverse demographic and professional backgrounds. IIM Trichy had designed the SHRM programmes to assist executives align different operational dimensions of HRM to organisational objectives.
The course had three modules which were structured focusing on building a foundation of SHRM models and frameworks, working on HR functional domain alignment and finally applying them in situations of strategic renewal and international contexts.
According to the TOI reports, the SHRM Programme Director Upam Pushpak Makhecha said that the B-school organised three workshops tailor-made to the current trends in regard to the three modules, namely design thinking, new labour codes, and a hands-on approach to HR analytics and data visualization.
Pawan Kumar Singh, Director, IIM Trichy explained how SHRM acts as a tool that aligns HR to the grand purpose of an organization. He quoted Maslow and said that the organisation's duty is to empower one to attain self-actualization.
He addressed the students and said that one of the utmost importance for leadership while achieving the corporate ladder is Humility. During the occasion, Singh felicitated merit award winners, Chakrapani Sharma, Amita Rout, and Swaroopa Chandran.
The graduating batch of the postgraduate certificate programme in SHRM lauded the utility of the long-duration programme and said that the course assisted them to understand the dynamic nature of business and provided context for strategic resource management. Prashant Gupta, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consulting also addressed the students on the occasion.
