Despite the economic downturn triggered by the COVID-19 outbreak, the placement process at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has been completed on Monday, with the highest annual package of INR 56.8 lakh.
The top offer was for a position abroad, according to the IIM Indore official, who refused to disclose the student's or employer's names. The highest salary offered during placements for a job in the country was INR 41.5 lakh per annum.
He added that the average package offered during IIM Indore Placements 2021 by the 210 participating firms was INR 23.6 lakh per annum, which was 3% higher than the salaries on offer last year. Prof. Himanshu Rai, director of the IIM Indore, expressed his delight at the recruiters' confidence in his students.

"It was a difficult task to place the largest number of students across all IIMs for final placements during the ongoing pandemic, but the commendable efforts in setting up the virtual placement drive ensured a smooth completion", he said.
According to the institute, all 579 students enrolled in the two-year PGP (Post-Graduate Program) and five-year IPM (Integrated Programme in Management) programs were placed.
Finance accounted for 24% of the offers, sales and marketing accounted for 23%, consulting accounted for 22%, general management and operations accounted for 20%, and IT and analytics accounted for 11%.
