IIM Calcutta Wins 3rd Edition of India's Largest Consulting Case Competition "ADL Innovation Challenge 2022"


New Delhi: IIM Calcutta has won the third edition of the Arthur D Little Innovation Challenge 2022. The challenge saw participation from 1800 students from India's top B-Schools including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, and Indian School of Business.

The 30 national finalists of the 2022 competition presented their innovation concepts to a panel of ADL India executives at the national finale, which was held on October 30, 2022, in the National Capital Region/Delhi. The focus of this year's challenge was "Corporate India 2050 - Build the next challenger".

Team Innovation Geeks from IIM Bangalore, consisting of Shivam Chandak, Avichal Agrawal, and Pragya Malik took first place for their creative presentation on the retail industry.

Additionally, the team Transcendence from IIM Bangalore took second place for their creative presentation on the cement industry, and Team Invincibles from IIM Bangalore came in third place overall.

The ADL Innovation Challenge intends to stir the curiosity of India's future business leaders, according to Barnik Chitran Maitra, Managing Partner of Arthur D Little, India and South Asia. The ground-breaking concepts offered today will shape Corporate India for the ensuing decades, he added.

"The brilliant business concepts highlighted in this year’s edition are a testimony to the imminence of India becoming an economic powerhouse and an epicentre of global innovation" he further added.

The ADL Innovation Challenge, which debuted in 2020, is the biggest consultancy case competition in India. With more than 2500 diverse brains from India's leading business schools participating, the previous two editions were a huge success.

Students from IIMA, IIMB, IIMC, IIML, and ISB can rethink the features of Indian business thanks to the national challenge. This year's competition included numerous rounds of analysis, problem-solving, and final presentations to the ADL India leadership.

Students met with ADL experts over the course of two months to refine their concepts. In addition to the Pre-Placement interviews that were provided to all 30 national finalists, the winners received prize money worth INR 5,00,000, the first runners-up INR 3,00,000, and the second runners-up INR 2,00,000.
