New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta’s Innovation park (IIMCIP), in association with the Times Professional Learning (TPL), under its brand the Second Wind, have launched their Inaugural program SURGE (Start-Up Readiness, Growth and Execution) for Entrepreneurs.
This programme by IIM Calcutta will provide entrepreneurs with guidance to help them on building, managing and also taking the scale up for their Organisations. Aspiring candidates can join the SURGE programme by registering on the official portal.
According to an official statement from IIM Calcutta, "The SURGE programme which spans over a 9 month duration is aimed to familiarise learners with essential management tools for entrepreneurs, managing early growth, navigating the unexpected, among others. The IIM-C SURGE programme has been designed for individuals aiming to start new ventures and those already running one. Learners completing the programme are entitled to the status of IIM Calcutta Executive education Alumni."

Telling about the SURGE programme Professor Vidyanand Jha, Programme Director, IIM Calcutta said, "The past two years have been remarkable & witnessed 54 Indian unicorns, as India emerged as the third largest unicorn hub only behind USA and China. We are highly optimistic and excited for what lies ahead, and with SURGE programme, we aim to develop an Entrepreneurial ecosystem which can help to build competencies for our learners. It will help to make them abreast, ready to address challenges of the industry and scale their respective business ventures.”
The programme will include Lectures, Case study, Project work, Guest sessions by practitioners and a lot of other valuable contents. Those who enrol for the SURGE programme are supposed to submit a capstone project by the programme end.
IIM Calcutta & Times Professional Learning SURGE Programme : Brief Overview
The Duration of SURGE programme is 9 months and during which the Classes will be organised from 6.45 pm to 9:45 PM through the online platform of Times on Sundays only. However, the programme will be delivered in Online mode but it also includes a 3-day campus visit to IIM Calcutta at the end of the programme.
It will be mandatory for all the participants to participate in the campus visit, but the campus module will be conducted subject to the pandemic situation.
IIM Calcutta & Times Professional Learning SURGE Programme : Eligibility
Aspiring candidates must have completed their Graduation with a minimum 50% aggregate marks. The candidate must also hold a minimum of one year professional work experience and should also be currently employed.
The Screening and final selection of candidates will be done by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta.
