New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management, IIM Calcutta has successfully concluded the internship placements for the 7th batch of the PGDBA program class of 2023, with the enthusiastic participation of various organizations across industries.

The PGDBA programme offered at IIM Calcutta is co-offered by ISI Kolkata, and IIT Kharagpur. The internship placements were conducted for a duration of 2 days.

The 2-day internship placement process with the participating recruiters was segregated into 4 clusters based on the type of industry (Consulting, BFSI, Healthcare and Product and Services).
The Hold-and-Wait policy permitted the students to hold offers, allowing both the companies and the students to discover a better fit.
The unique PGDBA course design takes advantage of Industry Connect and offers students a 6-month corporate internship, providing them ample opportunity to show that they are prepared for the workplace.
The 60-student batch received a record-breaking 107 offers from 20 different organisations, including 8 recruiters who were making their first visits at the management institute.
The accomplishment for the Class of 2023 is a powerful testament to the PGDBA program's strict requirements and the effectiveness of the placement system, which gives both hiring managers and candidates considerable flexibility.
This year, the institute witnessed a dramatic increase in the stipend in line with previous trends. The top 25% received more than Rs 2 lakh per month, with the average monthly stipend above Rs 1.5 lakh, which is an increase of 7.6% over the previous year.
Several renowned recruiters, including BCG, DE Shaw, Games24x7, Mastercard, and Providence, took part in the IIM Calcutta internship placement process.
The PGDBA students were hired for various roles including Associate Consultant, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, and Data Scientist positions, as well as HR Analytics, Marketing Analytics, and Quantitative Research Intern.
Congratulating the 7th batch of PGDBA students on their internship offers, the PGDBA chairperson said that the PGDBA batch achieved a new milestone by securing 100% internship placement via their arduous labour and unwavering devotion.
The chairperson said that It's a satisfying example of how teamwork can produce excellent outcomes.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Apex Committee members, the Placement Committee members, the placement office staff, faculty colleagues, administrations, student representatives, student volunteers, and all stakeholders at the tri-institute level for their continuous guidance and amazing cooperation.
Professor Samit Paul, IIM Calcutta, said that the institute is dedicated to operating a fair and open placement process that gives both the students and the recruiters mutual satisfaction.
