New Delhi: On November 14, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta celebrated its 62nd foundation day. On this occasion, the b-school also organised the Distinguished Alumnus Award, 2022 ceremony.
As per IIM Calcutta, the recipients of the Distinguished Alumnus Award 2022 this year were GM Kapur, a member of the 8th batch and chairman of the INTACH Conservation Institute's visioning committee, Srikant Sastri, a 20th batch entrepreneur and content creator.
Additionally, Sanjay Gupta, a member of the 26th batch and country head and vice-president of Google India, and Anindya Ghose, a member of the 33rd batch and director of the NYU Stern MS in Business Analytics were also awarded with the award during the event.
On this occasion, recipients received congratulations from Manish Thakur, dean (new initiatives & external relations) for their outstanding accomplishments. He claimed that his alma mater is extremely proud of their outstanding achievements in their different disciplines.
Shyam Srinivasan, Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Federal Bank and a renowned IIM Calcutta graduate, gave his speech on the foundation day. He discussed how the current generation will influence India's future.
It is a wonderful moment for IIM Calcutta, the first IIM in the nation, to organise its 62nd foundation day, Director Uttam Kumar Sarkar said in his speech. I would like to take this time to thank all of the people who have supported us over the years and helped us become who we are today, he added.
IIM Calcutta's board of governors chair Shrikrishna Kulkarni gave a speech after the prize presentation. He declared, "Humanity now has to incorporate human values in management more than ever before! IIM Calcutta can lead the way in bridging this gap on a global scale.
In his speech, Shyam Srinivasan said, your passports will be ready when you enter the school, so go get your visa stamped. Throughout the Q&A session, he also responded to queries from students. IIM Calcutta's dean (academic) Bhaskar Chakrabarti gave a vote of gratitude to end the occasion.
