IIM Bangalore’s Startup Hub Collabs with Capgemini for New Incubation Program; Read its Benefits


Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore in collaboration with Capgemini India for the new incubation program to support social startups under the NSRCEL Social Program.

The application process for the program will be commenced from January 6, 2021. The aim of the program is to provide support to the tech-enabled ventures which help in solving social problems and creates an impact in the areas of education, employability and environment.

Venkatesh Panchapagesan, the Chairman of NSRCEL and professor in the finance and accounting department of IIM Bangalore stated “A large country like ous has an abundance of challenges as well as talent and passion to solve them. But building a sustainable social enterprise takes more than passion.”

The NSRCEL is confident in creating a platform that can set a global benchmark for developing entrepreneurs with a strong commitment from Capgemini, stated Panchapagesan.

Kumar Anurag Pratap, the Capgemini’s India CSR lead announced that the startups selected in the incubation program will be mentored by the Capgemini Innovation and Applied Innovation Exchange teams, supported by Innovation Leader Nisheeth Srivastava.

Pratap also stated, “We look forward to amplifying opportunities to nurture promising early-stage social ventures at IIMB and empower them to scale up in order to be capable of addressing social problems and delivering sustained real-world impact.”

Companies with a minimum of six months of groundwork which are not older than two years will be shortlisted for a three-month pre-incubation phase as a part of the NSRCEL Social Program.

The entrepreneurs will be engaged in capacity building workshops during this stage. Sessions will be given to them by sector-specific experts to enrich their technical knowledge.  Opportunity to network with more than 800 ventures from previous cohorts at NSRCEL will be provided to the entrepreneurs. 

Incubation journey will begin for the entrepreneurs after the completion of this pre-incubation period. The duration of the incubation journey is 12 months.
