According to the reports, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and Bank of America will collaborate and launch a Centre for Digital Transformation (CDT).
It has been notified by IIM Ahmedabad that the main aim of introducing CDT Center is to make the center a knowledge hub for academia, policymaking, and the private sector by facilitating research on digital transformation and innovation.
The centre will mainly focus on activities that will enhance an understanding of the digital ecosystem and catalyse leadership, as it leverages its expertise in research and development to provide thought leadership for digital transformation.
Activities like convening leaders from academia, government, and the private sector to address the pressing moral, legal, and ethical questions surrounding the future application of technology and data, conducting and catalysing cutting-edge research by disseminating white-papers, and research reports, establishing workshops/ debates/ seminars regularly and conduct training programmes focussing on the impact of digital transformation and innovation at the center.

The director of IIM Ahmedabad, Errol D’Souza, said that the technology advancements in the information technology sector were growing rapidly and transforming the way the institute functions.
Further, the pandemic has revealed the value of digital operating models and the need for industry, institutions, and nations to ramp up their adoption of technology. Therefore, it is imperative that the institute focuses on studying the impact of the digital transformation on business, government, individuals and society, he added.
In addition, the centre has established an advisory council on responsible digital transformation to help develop best practices and guidelines.
Cathy Bessant, chief operations and technology officer, Bank of America, said that the global economy is becoming more reliant on digital technologies as underscored by the current environment.
Moreover, the development of digital economies is seen increasing at an exponential rate, shared learning, and best practices are important for shaping the future of the government, private industry, and universities/ institutions. By doing these, it is assured that technology is being created and implemented responsibly, she added.
