IGNOU Signs MoU with IBBI for Utilising Tele-lecturing Facility of Gyan Darshan Channel


Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India for utilizing the facility of tele-lecturing of the Gyan Darshan channel.

IGNOU has taken this move with an objective of facilitating an increase in the advocacy initiative reach. It will also ensure the utilization of the tele-lecturing facilities of IGNOU's Gyan Darshan Channel that will telecast the Awareness Programmes via distance learning mode. 

In the presence of the chairperson, IBBI, M. S. Sahoo, Prof. Rajendra Prasad Das, Officiating Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU, Sudhaker Shukla, Whole Time Member, IBBI, Srikant Mohapatra, the director, IGNOU, and the officers of the IBBI and IGNOU, the MoU was signed by the executive director, IBBI, Santosh Kumar Shukla and Banmali Singh, the Registrar, IGNOU. 

M S Sahoo, the chairperson, IBBI, appreciated IGNOU’s successful journey to emerge as a front runner people’s university extending cost effective solutions; in the process for more than three decades. He also addressed that IGNOU has carved a niche for itself with a wide recognition and presence.

Further, he expressed his interest in engaging with IGNOU to offer a seamless access to sustainable and learner-centric quality awareness programmes and training to several stakeholders of IBC by using innovative technologies. 

He added that the synergies between IGNOU and IBBI's mandate should be realized through this initiative. Professor Rajendra Prasad Das, the Officiating Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU, praised the initiative of IBBI. 

Appreciating the initiative of IBBI, Officiating Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU, Prof Rajendra Prasad Das highlighted that IGNOU has been catering to around 3 million students in India and other countries through a network of 67 Regional Centres, 21 Schools of Studies, around 2,000 learner support centers, and 20 overseas institutions, which makes IGNOU, the people's university.
