As per the latest updates, ICSE and ISC Board Exam 2021 will be conducted in two terms. The conducting body, Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced the revised method for assessment, which will be effective from the academic year 2021-2022.
The details regarding the term-wise model for ICSE and ISC Board Exam 2022 have been released on CISCE's official website, cisce.org. According to CISCE’s plan for ICSE and ISC exam 2022, each academic session has been divided into two semesters with 50% of the syllabus to be taught in each.
Students also need to take note that these changes have been done due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, which resulted in disruption of educational activities, closure of schools and syllabus division due to subsequent lockdowns.
Meanwhile, the official notice for syllabus reduction for ICSE and ISC Exam 2022 elaborates, the entire syllabus has been bisected into units or subunits to be covered in each semester.

Semester 2 | March / April 2022 |

ICSE, ISC Board Exam 2022: Additional Guidelines
The revised assessment model states, ICSE and ISC semester exams will be held on 80/100 marks and 70/80 respectively. However, the Board is yet to finalise the exact marks weightage. The weightage of each semester mark is believed to be brought down to half later, to be used for the computation of board results.
Apart from semester exams, students will be engaged in different kinds of practical project works at the ISC level but weightage will remain the same, as used earlier. ISC practicals are going to be conducted offline if the situation turns conducive. Therefore, Visiting Examiners will set practical question papers as per CISCE guidelines.
For ICSE 2022 appearing students, the internal assessment will continue to play an important role, hence, marks weightage remains unchanged. For this, schools will have to upload Practical/Project Work/Internal Assessment/ SUPW grades on the CAREERS portal at the stipulated date and time by the end of a semester. Schools will be required to keep a record of marks for the practical work of each student so that they can submit them when CISCE will ask for a sample.
