ICGEB PhD Fellowships 2021: Applications Open for Short-term Fellowships; Details Here


International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) is officially offering short term Ph.D. fellowships to the students who are nationals of ICGEB member states and those who have completed BSc (Hons.)/MSc degree to pursue Ph.D.research at ICGEB labs (the other two member states are Trieste, Italy and Cape Town, South Africa). 

The short-term program is being offered with an aim to facilitate access to the latest research techniques and to strengthen the capacity building. The shortlisted fellows will be able to avail of a monthly stipend of up to USD 1,020 along with other benefits. Candidates must note that the last date to apply for the PhD fellowships is September 30, 2021.

ICGEB Short-term PhD Fellowships 2021: Eligibility Criteria 

Interested candidates are required to satisfy the eligibility criteria in order to apply for the ICGEB short-term PhD fellowships 2021. Below are the eligibility criteria which are as follows, 

  • Be a national of an ICGEB Member State.
  • Must hold a BSc (Honours) degree to pursue research at ICGEB Trieste and Cape Town. OR, Hold an MSc degree to pursue research at ICGEB Campus, New Delhi.
  • Have proficiency in the English language (TOEFL certification required).

Candidates must note that they may not apply for the PGD fellowships to be undertaken in their country of origin unless they have worked abroad at the time of application. 

ICGEB Short-term PhD Fellowships 2021: Benefits

  • The shortlisted candidates will receive a monthly stipend at the following ICGEB labs: Trieste (Italy): EUR 1,300, New Delhi (India): USD 1,020, Cape Town (South Africa): ZAR 12,500.
