Tech Major IBM and the Telangana Government are working together to provide curated online courses for state students to enhance their technical and professional skills, the company said on Monday.
IBM will work with Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge (TASK) to provide Open P-TECH, a free digital education platform focused on emerging technologies and professional development skills, according to the release. A total of 30,000 engineering, graduation and polytechnic students would benefit from the initiative over a period of one year.

In addition to providing access, IBM and its training partners will also train college teachers to use the platform so that they can guide and mentor their students to learn those skills that will improve their readiness for their future careers and workplaces.
"Our collaboration with the Telangana government is a significant milestone, complementing the states education curriculum with professional, new-age, and white-collar skill sets for students," said IBM India/South Asia Managing Director Sandip Patel. State Principal IT and Industry Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said I am pleased that TASK and IBM have come together for the Open P-Tech initiative and urge students to take advantage of the opportunity."
Under the partnership, IBM will offer free of charge its entire catalogue of Open P-TECH courses in emerging technologies such as cyber security, blockchain, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud, the Internet of Things, along with professional skills such as Design Thinking for learners aged between 18 and 22.
