As per Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) orders, the HP Board Class 10 exams have been cancelled while Class 12 exams have been postponed till further notice due to the increasing cases of Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
A meeting was held on May 5th, following which the board has decided to promote students who were preparing for HPBOSE Class 10 Exam 2021 on internal assessments. HP Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, reviewed the COVID-19 situation across the state and took a step towards preventing the increase of cases in Himachal Pradesh.
In order to ensure the safety of students in states, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has also ordered all educational institutes, and schools to remain closed till May 31, 2021.
HPBOSE Class 10th Exam 2021: New Assessment Scheme
For Himachal Pradesh Board Class 10 students, the board has decided to cancel the Himachal Pradesh Board Class 10 Examination 2021, and promote students to the next classes.
HPBOSE Class 10th Marking Scheme will follow Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10th Marking Scheme, therefore students will be promoted to the next classes based on the following criteria:
- Marks of Himachal Pradesh Board Class 10 students will be evaluated based on internal assessment scores, and the performance of students in the academic examination.
- Out of 100 marks, 80 marks will be evaluated based on examinations conducted during the academic year.
- While the remaining 20 percent marks will be evaluated based on students’ internal assessment scores.
Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur stated “Keeping in view the sharp surge of COVID-19 cases in the state, it was also decided in the meeting that the annual examination of the 10th standard of Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education would stand canceled.”
