Haryana Schools Reopening: Haryana schools are all set to reopen for class 9 and 11 students from December 21, 2020.
Haryana schools for classes 10 and 12 students have already commenced a week ago and as per reports the attendance was merely 5-10% in the past week.
Some of the Haryana schools didn't see a single student attending three hour physical classes in the state schools.

On the other hand, the teacher's attendance was also on the same scale and not many teachers reported to work due to the prevailing pandemic situation.
The Haryana government took the first move to reopen state schools in the month of November. However, due to 200 students being tested positive, the government decided to close down all the Haryana schools.
Principal of a government senior secondary school also said, "This time, the attendance has been low in the first week of haryana schools reopening. Students and parents want to wait till the COVID-19 situation normalises. Similar situation is expected for class 9 and 11."
A major challenge seen during the Haryana schools reopening is the medical certificates that are to be carried by all the students. This is the expected reason for poor attendance.

As per the new norms, students have to carry a written consent signed by their parents along with a certificate certifying that the child is medically fit.
This raised a concern among parents, as a medical certificate requires visiting primary health care centers, which doesn't seem safe at the moment.
Seeing that many states have decided to keep the schools closed till the end of December, some parents have raised their concern, "Visiting any clinic poses a high risk of pandemic spread. Our child may not be affected during the clinic visit, but we may come back with the virus."
