Gujarat Schools Reopening: Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Gujarat Education Minister on Wednesday announced that classes for students of 10th and 12th would resume from January 11, 2021, Monday. He further informed that the Classes would be conducted adhering strictly to COVID-19 guidelines.
ANI tweeted that, “Classes for students of 10th & 12th standard will resume from 11th January, following all COVID19 guidelines: Gujarat Education Minister, Bhupendrasinh Chudasama.”
Schools and other educational institutions have been shut in the state since March, due to the outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. Although with the daily Covid tally taking a downward shift over the past few weeks, the government is planning to reopen the schools after nine months.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) is also preparing to announce the board exam schedule for Classes 10 and 12 in the upcoming week.
As per the GSHSEB official, the board is taking into account two dates, i.e., May 10, 2021, and May 17, 2021. The board is likely to choose from the two options available. The authorities would release the exam time table by next week.
Earlier this month, Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank declared the date sheet for Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for class 10 and 12 exams. The board exams will take place from May 4, 2021, to June 10, 2021, while the results are expected to be declared by the CBSE on or before July 15, 2021.
