GSEB Board Exams 2021: Gujarat Board Eased Down Question Pattern for Classes 9-12; More MCQs and General Options to be Provided


GBSHSE Board Exams 2021: On November 26, 2020, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) announced that there will be a general option in place of an internal option for descriptive answers in examinations from class 9 onwards including GSEB class 10 and GSEB class 12 exams.

GBSHSE Board has stated that it is going to offer relaxation of granting general options in Gujarat Board Exams 2021 in the secondary section owing to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation. The statement also says that there will be an increment in the portion of multiple-choice questions from 20% to 30% for students from class 9-11 in general and science streams this year. 

The Board has decided to keep the ratio of 30:70 for MCQ and descriptive questions this year and also discussed the process for changing the method of examination, with all district officers and other concerned authorities.

Initially, the board had decided to remove the system of 50% of multiple-choice questions for GSEB Class 12 Science Examinations but now it will retain this system for one more year and the ratio of MCQ will remain the same.

GBSHSE has also decided to postpone the GSEB Class 10 and GSEB Class 12 Exam 2021 by two months. Considering the revised notification by Gujarat Board Exams, the state board exams for 2021 will be held in the month of May owing to the current circumstances of widespread COVID-19. 

The GSEB class 10 and GSEB class 12 exams were originally held in the first week of March, but this year because of the pandemic situation, the board has declared to conduct the examinations in May 2021.
