Government Primary Schools in UP to Witness Major Changes; Check Details Here


The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to bring about a sea of changes in the education system of primary schools of the state. The aim of the government is to make them on par with the convent schools in the state. 

UP Basic Shiksha Parishad has been given a deadline of 2022 by the CM of the state to change the quality of education in government schools. This process is a part of an ambitious project called Operation Rejuvenation.

Under this project, a total of 1.59 lakh primary schools will be provided with various facilities by the government. In the first phase, the schools will focus on achieving 10 out of the 14 standards set as targets. The remaining 4 standards will be met by 2022. 

In addition to these measures, the government is also contemplating the introduction of NCERT syllabus in government schools from 2021. As of now, around 16 schools have been converted into English medium schools. English speaking classes have also been started in these schools for this purpose. 

In addition, proper staff, library, projector, and other facilities are being arranged to improve the quality of education in these schools. For this purpose, the UP government is planning to hire nearly 50000 assistant teachers by the end of 2021.

The recruitment drive aims to fill up vacancies in government schools and reduce the problem of staff shortage. Minister of State for Basic Education, Satish Dwivedi said in a statement that all measures are being taken to ensure that the necessary environment is being created in these schools. 

The UP government is currently in the process of hiring 69000 teacher vacancies in the state as per the result of May 2020 on SC’s verdict. The SC dismissed a petition filed by Shiksha Mitra Association which challenged the Allahabad HC’s decision to uphold the cut-off marks for selection of the teachers.
