Earlier, a total of 50 students who have obtained 90% marks in Maharashtra Board Class 10th Exam 2020 have secured admission in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) under first come first served (FCFS) basis, which was conducted last week. Additionally, during the second round of FYJC Admission 2020-21 FCFS, which was concluded on January 18, 2021, 900 students with 80%, and above marks in SSC Class 10th Exam have secured admission seats in junior colleges.

Referring to the admission process, the Principal of Suburban College said, “While most high scorers have already taken admission, some might have taken the risk of waiting until quota seats opened up after the regular rounds. Also, there are some students who might have canceled their earlier admissions and tried for another college or stream in this round.”

Earlier, on December 15, 2020, during the Mumbai FYJC Admission 3rd list released, 45,402 students were allotted colleges, out of which only 13,109 confirmed their admission seats. As per record, 80000 seats were vacant in 3 quotas, in which 58,000 seats were reserved for minority quota students.

During the FYJC Admission 2021 FCFS round, applicants who have applied for admission can claim admission seats as per vacancies available. Once students claim their respective admission seats, they are required to confirm the same at the allotted university/college. The Education Department is set to conduct seven rounds for FCFS for applicants who wish to seek admission to various colleges in Mumbai. The last FYJC Admission 2021 round is set to commence on January 31, 2021.
