Mudra Institute of Communications entrance test is on February 15, 2015. It is not completely multiple choice question paper. MICAT is both subjective and objective paper. In order to clear the exam, one needs to show his/her creative ideas apart from doing quantitative aptitude, English and reasoning.
MICAT 2015 will consist of two sections. Duration of exam is 125 minutes. First section will be subjective consisting of four questions. It includes essay writing, story writing. Second section is categorized into three parts:- part 1 is a psychometric test, part 2 is reasoning and verbal ability, part 3 is general awareness.
Duration of exam and number of questions changes every year. MICAT analysis of last four years is given below:-

In 2010 and 2011, there were sections on quantitative aptitude, verbal and reasoning. In 2012, there were questions on creative and intelligence. MICAT 2013 had questions from all the sections except quantitative aptitude.
Difficulty of exam is between moderate and difficult. Multiple choice questions on quantitative aptitude, verbal ability and reasoning section are comparatively easy than other MBA entrance tests. Creative ability is more important than preparation for other sections.

Data sufficiency, statement and visual reasoning questions are generally easy. In 2013, it was a moderate section.
General awareness
Questions from this section are usually on media, advertising, marketing, films, general and social issues and general global awareness. Its difficulty level is usually moderate to tough.

Verbal ability

Divergent Thinking and Creative Reasoning
It is second name for analytical reasoning section which came in MICAT 2012 exam. This section is tough. Questions in this section are from topics:-

Essay/Story Writing/Positive and Negative Arguments
Creative ability questions changes every year. Essay writing and story writing questions are predominant. In 2013 exam, there was a statement based on which three questions were asked- first was to write five points in favor of the given statement, second was to write five points against the statement, third was to write an essay either in against or favor of the given statement.

Students are given a picture for story writing question. In MICAT 2013, there were nine pictures of zebra, flower, red fort, pulses, caricature of a book reading caterpillar, a pink dress, tree house, a set of playing blocks and bed. All of those were needed for writing.
Psychometric test
It is compulsory to attempt this section. It has no negative marking. It has three sets. First part consists of thirty questions and candidates need to attempt 10 questions out of these. It will describe their personality. Second part comprises of two arguments which candidates need to rank those according to their personality. In third part, candidates have to rank various responses on scale of 1 to 6.

This entrance exam is designed to test analytical ability, verbal ability, logical reasoning, divergent thinking, written communication skills, creativity potential and general awareness of candidates. They need to be well read, creative, have innovative mind. They must be aware of current social and industry issues. They should have regular newspaper reading habit and msut have practice in analytical and creative writing.
