DU Admissions 2021: Ward Quota Seats Increased After 24 Years, Read Full Report Here


DU Admissions 2021: Delhi University has recently announced that the university will increase the ward quota seats in its various affiliated colleges and courses for academic session 2021. 

As per the announcement made by Delhi University, the ward quota for admission session 2021 will now be increased to 12 from 6. The increase in seats under ward quota has been made after a span of 24 years in Delhi University admission. 

Under the ward quota, Delhi University will secure admission seats in various DU undergraduate and postgraduate courses in its affiliated colleges for children of teaching and non-teaching staff who are now working in DU. 

DU Academic Council has recently released the Delhi University Admission 2021 guidelines for all interested and eligible students to check. As per the guidelines released, a total of 16 seats has been added to the reserved ward quota category. 

Out of a total of 16 reserved seats, 8 seats are reserved for children of DU teaching faculty members, and the remaining 8 for children of the non-teaching staff of the colleges. Additionally, 400 or more seats have been added to courses in DU-affiliated colleges.

In the 8 reserved seats for ward quota; both teaching and non-teaching staff children, the admission will be done on the basis of merit list release for 4 seats and entrance exam scores for the remaining four seats. 

Delhi University affiliated colleges with over 201-399 admission seats will have 12 seats reserved under the ward quota. Likewise, colleges with seats in a range of 101-200 will have 8 seats reserved under the ward quota for eligible candidates. 

For those colleges that have 50 or fewer admission seats available for any course, only 2 seats will be reserved for both teaching and non-teaching staff quota students.

Earlier, Delhi University has started the online admission process for its various undergraduate and postgraduate courses from July end. The admission link for UG courses is now available on the university website from August 02, to August 31, 2021.
