As per the recent update made by Delhi University’s Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW) on wednesday said that the final year students who need access to the laboratories for their practical classes will be allowed to return to the campus.
DSW Rajeev Gupta stated that DSW Office organised a meeting with the principals of the DU affiliated colleges and the HODs of Delhi University on January 5, 2021 regarding the return of the students in the campus for their practical classes.
He also mentioned in his statement that the theory classes will be held through an online mode as earlier.

The meetings were chaired by the VC of DU and dean of colleges, director — South Campus, DSW and the Registrar also participated in the meeting.
Both meetings had a detailed discussion on the UGC’s guidelines which were released by the UGC on November 5, 2020, which have mentioned to allow the students to return to their colleges.
Rajeev Gupta also stated that DU will gradually start allowing the students to return to their colleges in smaller groups following the SOPs for the practical classes for the time being.

The DSW Rajeev Gupta also said that the process will begin from the month of February 2021, while the month of January will be used for preparing the Standard Operating Procedures so that the faculty as well as the students can join the classes in a safe manner.
He also added that the decision will completely depend on the students whether they want to join the physical classes or not as this will not be a mandatory step.
