As a result, several university teachers stated that DU is likely to repeat the same mistake as the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), 2014 by implementing a 4 year UG program.
Seema Das, Member of Academic Council at Delhi University stated that the university is advised not to reduce the number of core papers up to the third year, keeping in mind that if students of the fourth year wish to do research, the core papers knowledge will provide enough data to conduct the research.
Additionally, Nandita Narain, associate professor at St Stephen’s College added that Delhi University is not learning from its past experiences, i.e, failure of academic reforms, which is causing further trouble for students.
She further added that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is similar to the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), 2014 in various ways. Delhi University must be concerned with teachers, and students before implementing such programs.
