Manish Sisodia, the education minister of Delhi, declared on Wednesday that two new committees will be formed to assist in introducing the city's own education board.

Although the Delhi government schools have showcased excellent performance in Class XII board exams with getting % results, this is not enough and everyone has to work together to make education even more productive and advanced, said Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister.
Manish Sisodia had recently assembled the first meeting of the two newly formed committees at the Delhi Secretariat. These committees are called Delhi Education Board Committee and Delhi Curriculum Reform Committee.
Their responsibility will be to prepare the scheme and framework for the formation of the Delhi Education Board and reform the existing syllabus.
Earlier, Delhi Government asked heads of schools to appoint guest teachers.
Currently, the Government schools of Delhi are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The education board committee is going to analyze the most successful methods of learning assessment practiced globally, revise the existing assessment practices and recommend newer guidelines to develop an innovative, effective and student-friendly scheme of assessment.
The new board will be functioning under the counsel of the curriculum reform committee. The new education board will mean that Delhi Government schools will be de-linked from CBSE.
Among the members of this committee are Ankur Sarin, an IIM Ahmedabad teacher, Wilima Wadhwa, the director of ASER Centre and Ashok Pandey, director of Ahlcon Group of Schools.
