The Education Department of Delhi has issued new instructions to Delhi schools stating that the students of class 10 and 12 can be called to attend schools with their parent’s consent from January 18, 2021.
Delhi Government issued the direction on January 13, 2021. As per the direction, the schools located inside containment zones are not permitted to call the students, and students or teachers living inside containment zones will not be permitted to attend the schools. The schools are also not allowed to conduct assembly or any physical outdoor activities.

The instructions came after CBSE issued the examination schedules for classes 10 and 12. The practicals will be conducted from March 1 and the written exams will begin from May 4.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia announced through Twitter, “In view of the CBSE Board Examinations and Practicals in Delhi, permission is being given to open schools for 10th and 12th classes for practical, project, counselling, etc. from January 18”.
A circular issued to the head of all Government, Government aided and unaided recognized schools of Delhi stated that records of attending students must be maintained but it should not be used for attendance.
The students must not be forced by the schools to attend the classes since it completely depends on the consent of the parents to send their children to school and all the standard operating procedures issued by the government should be followed, the circular added.
All the schools in Delhi remained closed from March due to the nationwide lockdown for preventing the spread of the Covid-19. During this period, students in Delhi have not attended any offline classes for the academic year.
