Cultre, supported by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur's SIIC has decided to introduce the second edition of the Heritage Olympiad on Children’s Day on November 14, 2021.
IIT Kanpur’s second edition of Heritage Olympiad aims to integrate heritage education into the mainstream curriculum by making it more accessible to all the students at the school level.
According to the IIT Kanpur press release, the Heritage Olympiad will offer single-window access to the multi-faceted Culture and history of India that relatively aligns with the latest NEP 2020 and it carries an interdisciplinary approach to art and cultural education.

Expressing his delight towards the Cultre's successful venture and launch of another under the aegis SIIC, Professor Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT Kanpur said that the Startup Innovation and Incubation Centre (SIIC) had a history of creating, supporting, and promoting technology and knowledge-intensive innovations that uphold the Indian Heritage.
He said that the Cultre's Heritage Olympiad goes way beyond imparting knowledge around the subject, but it also prompts individuals to learn about their country and its diverse history.
He also gave his best wishes to Cultre for the second edition of the Olympiad and urged the students to participate in it.
Over 2,500 registrations across age groups, ranging from 9 to 65 years were made for the first edition of the Heritage Olympiad. Further, the Cultre is supported by prominent organizations, including UNESCO, Sahapedia, Nehru Planetarium, Mehrangarh Museum Trust, Amar Chitra Katha, National Rail Museum, and Royal Opera House Mumbai.
Supported by IIT Kanpur, Cultre is a creative and cultural enterprise and seeks to encourage the access, understanding and experience of India’s pluralistic cultural heritage to young minds and life-long learners through their content, products and experiences.
