The Council of Higher Education (CHSE) Odisha on Tuesday announced that the annual
Higher Secondary examination (special) will begin from October 1 in offline mode. The examination will continue till October 11, 2021 including the Sundays too.
The CHSE Odisha has planned to conduct the plus two special exams for two elective subjects and mother Indian language (MIL). Gangadhar Sahoo, the chairman of CHSE stated that as there are so many subjects in higher secondary classes and various streams, it will be impossible to conduct the exams for all the papers.
Moreover, there are only 5 students in some subjects and each student is required to appear for four papers and choose any two of the elective papers and two literature papers, i.e, first language and second language for the special exam, he added.
It has been notified by CHSE that a total of 13,043 students have applied for the offline special exam as they were not satisfied with the marks that were awarded to them through the alternative evaluation method.
Sahoo stated that the offline exam has to be completed and the results will be announced prior to the completion of the plus three admission process so that the students can participate in the same.
Meanwhile, the Council has informed that payment for examination or registration will not be collected from students. Earlier, this year, the annual Plus II examination was cancelled owing to the Covid-19 pandemic and the results for the same were announced using an alternative assessment system wherein marks secured by the students in Class X examination were also taken into consideration.
As per the records, around 1.96 lakh students had cleared the Arts stream, 89,951 students passed the Science stream and 23,292 students cleared the Commerce stream in the annual plus two exams.
