Chhattisgarh Becomes the First State to Offer Online Funding to Private Schools


Chhattisgarh has become the first state to contribute online funds to private schools in the state due to the pandemic. By far, 3.5 lakh students have been supported through this contribution.

The State School Education Minister Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam reports that the 101 Crore rupees of education fee have directly transmitted to the bank accounts of 4473 private schools regarding the Right to Education Act. The funds have been transmitted online in a systematic procedure

The School Education Minister stated that this is the first time in the state distributing the amount of Right to Education online. There is information regarding the same that the model is being obtained by Odisha, Jharkhand, and Assam Government. 

Apart from that, the state government has claimed that 51985 students have been admitted to the schools amidst the Covid- 19 situations. The education minister remarked that for a long period the children with economically weaker backgrounds were not able to submit the fee within time. However, they were enrolled in private schools under the Right to Education Act.

The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal previously proposed the idea of arranging a task force for supervising the enactment of the National Education Policy (NEP) between the departments of school education and higher education. 

Adding to the proposal, Education Minister Pokhriyal suggests that organizing a review committee and a commission headed by Secretary in higher education will confirm a speedy process of NEP.
