In light of the current COVID-19 situation, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that holding the class 12 board examinations in the state would be inappropriate.
“If the suggestions received from stakeholders are taken into account, there is agreement on the postponement of the examination.” People believe that if the exams are held and children become infected, it will be impossible to maintain social distance,” Soren said after attending a meeting on the CBSE Class 12 board exams convened by the Centre.
Many students and their families are suffering from mental stress, and several children have lost loved ones, he said, adding that holding the exams under such circumstances would be inappropriate.
The proposals for holding the exams online, according to the chief minister, have also been received. “Many such points are critical, such as reducing exam time, changing the subject, and establishing a home centre. Keeping all of this in mind, I proposed that the dates of all upcoming examinations be set only after the pandemic is under control,” Soren said.
“Within two days, I will send my detailed suggestion in writing to the Central Board of Secondary Education,” he added.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said in New Delhi after a two-hour meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh that states and union territories have been asked to submit detailed suggestions on the matter by May 25. Read More
