Private candidates are the candidates who have failed to secure the passing marks in the first attempt to the examination or are opting for an improvement result.

The schools don't have assignment marks or mid term marks for these candidates. As a result, the council could not assess them on assignment marks as for regular candidates.

This issue was discussed at the Supreme Court and the board had decided to take seperate physical exam for private students.
