You have held key positions at educational institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Teaching as a passion and motivating students keeps me connected with the education sector”

From the very beginning, teaching has been my passion. I like to motivate students. Teaching gives me absolute pleasure and allows me to continuously develop myself as well. So, I have always connected with the education sector ever since I started and I intend to do so as well.

Being the Principal of BSc at IBMR, what is your philosophy of leadership and describe your leadership style?

“To make final decisions, practicing and working together follows through my leadership”

Leadership is about letting you subordinates or colleagues express themselves to derive mutual benefits. But, the final decision lies with you. This final decision and responsibility of its repercussions should be owned by the leader. For me, a leader means setting a good example, practicing and making sure that my team is able to give their best.

How does the curriculum of BSc at IBMR ensure the best practice of industry?

“Provide certification courses and industry relevant knowledge for students”

We are following the NEP guidelines right now. Students get certification or diploma courses along with advanced courses as per market requirements such as IOT, Artificial Intelligence etc. These courses help them to understand what is going on in the industry right now. They can easily groom themselves accordingly to meet industry needs.

What do you think your responsibilities to the college and the students are?

“To motivate pupils and guide them towards the goal are my duties”

Our greatest role is to motivate pupils for better careers. The gifted students know what is best for them. In contrast, average students need to be motivated and guided down the right path. They need to know what to do. We have to orient them towards that goal.

What do you think should be the IBMR Group of Institutions top priority over the next 10 years?

“To maintain stability and provide more jobs to students is our priority in upcoming years”

In the next 5-10 years, I would like to see that most of my students are getting good jobs. Another one is to become one of the strongest institutions. Becoming No. 1 is easy. You can go back and forth. But, maintaining stability is the real challenge. Getting to the top might be easy but staying there is a big deal. I have that vision for our department and our college as a whole.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see in designing the curriculum for BSc at IBMR?

“To add new ideas to the curriculum is the greatest difficulty for us”

We are affiliated to Karnataka University. Usually in universities there is a group of professors who decide the curriculum and that is what we are supposed to adhere to. To add new ideas is the greatest challenge for us. So many times, we give suggestions or include it in our certification courses. Hence, our students don’t miss out on latest industry requirements.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Analyze your strengths, focus on strong points and decide where to go”

I would like to advise them to first learn the things and decide what they want. Not just go for whatever is trending. Finalize or analyze your strengths and go for your goal. Trends will keep changing and we surely must align ourselves according to them. You must focus on your strengths and strong points.
