I believe that continuous learning plays a major role in keeping me connected to the education sector. Another one is to upskill the current trends for our students. All these factors assist me to maintain a healthy relationship with campus. 


How do you strategize key programs and plans for marketing and administration of Milagres College, Karnataka?

“Use social media platforms to organize campus ads and plan marketing smoothly”

We plan the marketing through the college website and make sure that everything is smooth. Apart from that, we use social media sites like Facebook and Instagram to advertise our college information among people. WhatsApp and videos on YouTube channels are also a source of advertisement for us.


How does the curriculum of Milagres College ensure the best practice of industry?

“Add on courses, clubs and activities are available to students inside the campus”

We follow the syllabus and guidelines as per the Mangalore university. Additionally, we engage the students in various clubs and associations. They receive add on courses which will help them learn a bit more than the syllabus. It will help them learn and grow.


Any insights into how your college could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“Provide scholarships and free education for the backward students and consider all pupils as equal”

Our college welcomes everyone with no discrimination at all. We stand as a minority college and students from poor backgrounds come through scholarships given by the Catholic Board of Education. Campus gives free education to backward students through the Mangalore Diocese. Students from various backward areas like bidar, gulbarga etc. are also coming to study with us.

What would you like people to know about Milagres College they may not know?

“Strong alumni network, transport and quality education are given to pupils”

Our campus contains a rich history of 175 years and the alumni network is also very strong. Institute is all connected to the Milagres church which is around 300 years old. The best thing about the college is situated in the heart of the city of Mangalore where students have easy access to all modes of transport. Within the last 6 years, we have been able to achieve top ranks in the city.


What do you see as Milagres College’s greatest strengths?

“Dynamic faculty, students and infrastructure are our greatest strengths”

Our greatest strength is that we have a young and dynamic faculty who is dedicated towards the learning of students. We also have state of the art infrastructure that is important in the overall Development of our students. Pupils are also our primary strengths inside the college. 


What are the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general and Milagres College specifically?

“To make students aware about the importance of higher education is the greatest challenge”

One of the biggest challenges is competition that we face from other institutions. At the same time, students nowadays don’t have interest towards higher education. They are inclined towards working after their education hours. Making them understand the importance of higher education is a serious challenge for us. 


Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Adapt new ideas and formulate values in your life”

I will suggest students to stay open minded in order to adapt to new things. They need to concern themselves with positive opinions about others in order to generate values for life. Be confident and chase your dreams. 


What plans are you currently designing for Milagres College international affairs and students?

“To foster research, collaboration, introduce short term courses and pg programs are plans for designing recently”

We decide to focus on students' dreams, collaboration and public engagement in upcoming years. Our campus decides to follow values of inculcation, integrity and diversity. We foster research not only in commerce but also in interdisciplinary areas. Our management makes decisions to introduce short- term professional courses and PG programs. Also, we train students for UPSC exams. 


What is the rate of admissions in your college and has it increased from last year?

“High rate of admission is visible compared to last year on campus”

Our admission rate has been high since we started. We started with only 80 students in our first batch. It reached around 700 students this year on campus.

Do you have any extra-curricular activities to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?

“NCC, Add-on courses, and several clubs are available for pupils” 

Some of the extracurricular activities on campus consist in the form of NCC, club activities and other associations. We give awards for best performed candidates. Campus provides add on courses for the students in each year. They are benefitting while learning something new. 


With the competition so high, how do you guide your students to survive in such a competitive scenario?

“Provide extra sessions and industrial subjects on the syllabus for pupils”

We also make sure that we teach our students extra and give them the competitive edge over others. Initiatives like earning while learning makes it possible for us. We make sure that students are learning extra and have the edge over the others.
