Dr S MuthuLakshmi is a HOD of the Computer Science department in the Mohamed Sathak College Of Arts And Science, Chennai. She did M.Sc, M.Phil, Ph.D having 14 years of working experience in Teaching and Research. She published research papers in a Peer-reviewed national, international conference and journals. What are your key duties at Mohamed Sathak College Of Arts And Science?

“Provide essential information and share my ideas with pupils on campus”

My primary role is to share my knowledge with the students. Other one is to give essential information and resources to all.

“Make effective decisions, maintain transparency and good rapport on campus”

To guide or direct the individuals in an appropriate manner towards the implementation of their tasks and function is vital. We provide solutions to various types of problems and challenges. It makes effective decisions and creates amiable environmental conditions which would facilitate the achievement of academic goals and objectives. To have a good rapport with colleagues, we maintain transparency. 

How do you make effective plans for Marketing and Administration of campus?

“Organize career programs, and several competitions for students”

We conduct a program on career guidance each year. Also, we organize various competitions for students on campus. 

What are the latest trends you are seeing in the education system nowadays?

“New technology, improved learning and discipline are recent trends in the education system”

Innovation in education is more focused on new technology. It’s solving a real problem in a fresh, and simple way. This promotes equity and improves the learning of students to gain good discipline.

We take our students to industrial visits. Our campus is molding the student to become an entrepreneur.

To encourage mediocre students to get more marks is a toughest task. We try to encourage slow learners to pass in their respective subjects. To increase responsibilities and make use of time management is another risk. So, we think logically and reinforce a positive outlook.

What are your plans for college for the upcoming year?

“To improve academic performance, value-added certificates or courses for pupils”

My primary aim is to take initiative for more value added/certificate/cultural courses to be Implemented. It is necessary to uphold good academic performance next year. To inculcate a learner centric and effective teaching learning process is the next plan. Strong linkage with industry boosts the workflow of campus.
