Mr. Sachin Sudan has been working as the Head of Management Department at Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions, Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. He has done B. Com, MBA in Finance and Marketing and is currently pursuing PhD in Marketing domain as part of his academics. Also, he has a wonderful 13 years of teaching experience. And to do this in a perfectly possible way, teachers also need to be updated with happenings of this dynamic world and students' requirements. Therefore, our college organizes professional development programs, hands-on training sessions and workshops on a regular basis to make sure teachers stay aware about the newer technologies, educational practices and industrial standards. In addition to this, teachers collaborate with various educational communities and groups to stay in touch with the latest happenings of the outside world and also to equip themselves with methods of dealing with different difficult situations. What challenges have you faced while inculcating new programs in your institute's curriculum?

I firmly believe that educating students is always a challenging yet amazing profession. A major issue which we face while inculcating new courses in our curriculum is transforming students into good individuals and professionals as many of them are stubborn and rigid and respond very slowly to us. Additionally, lack of participation and initiatives from the students' side in the learning process along with their fear of failure also poses major roadblocks for us as we need to develop such teaching techniques which can suit everyone's needs. 

How do you prepare your students for this dynamic and cut-throat competitive world? 

"By enhancing their knowledge through real time projects and organizing workshops and seminars as required"

For the purpose of preparing our students for this competitive and ever changing world, we regularly assign mini-major projects and assignments to them. The aim of assigning these projects is to teach them important skills like team building, leadership and time management and also help them to utilize their learning in practical scenarios. In addition to this, brainstorming exercises, group discussions on current issues and mock interviews are conducted too by us for their benefit and to make them placement ready. Last but not the least, we encourage our students to give presentations of their research projects in order to boost their confidence and remove their fear of public speaking.
