“Visionary eduPRENEUR of India 2017” award to ICFAI Founder Sri N J Yasaswy (posthumously)

12th December 2017, Hyderabad: Mrs. Sobha Rani Yasaswy, Chairperson, ICFAI has received the prestigious Honor of “Visionary eduPRENEUR of India” (posthumously) which was conferred on late Sri N J Yasaswy, the Founder of ICFAI Group from Former President of India Sri Pranab Mukherjee on Monday, 11-12-2017 at a colorful ceremony held at Civil Services Officer’s Institute (CSOI), New Delhi.

Mrs. Sobha Rani Yasaswy expressed her happiness on receiving the award from Sri Pranab Mukherjee and said “We want the children to grow with values, learn with commitment and lead a healthy and happy life. It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction to provide value based education. This is ICFAI's humble attempt towards nation building."

While addressing the gathering the former President Sri Pranab Mukherjee exhorted the educationists to focus on a) Technology b) Inclusivity c) Cultural relevance d) Value-based and result oriented initiatives. Sri Pranab Mukherjee was also awarded the “Education President” of India commemorating his 83rd birthday on the occasion.

Sri. N. J. Yasaswy (1950-2011), the founder of the ICFAI Group of educational institutions and a pioneer in promoting higher education in the private sector, had a brilliant academic career:

Sri. Yasaswy set up the ICFAI Group as a single institute in 1985 without governmental sops or institutional funding, in an era where government support was the norm. He chose to spend all his energy on the fledgling institution which over the years grew to become a monument to what ambition can deliver.
