Which latest program are you offering in your institute to help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

"We are offering the PGDM program in Infrastructure Management and Industrial Safety & Environment Management"

Our college is offering unique 2-year full-time AICTE recognized PGDM programs and they all are designed based on the latest industry requirements.

  • PGDM in Infrastructure Management: It is an integrated Technology and Management program with a major specialization in Civil, Transportation, Power, Telecom and IT Management and a minor specialization in core Management courses like Business Analytics, H.R, Finance, Marketing and Operations Management.
  • PGDM in Industrial Safety and Environment Management: It is a new program that we have started this year only for Engineers and B.Sc. Graduates.
  • PGDM General (PGDM-Gen)

In the revised curriculum IT management is being offered as a special elective for BCA, B.Com computers and computer Science Engineers apart from Business Analytics, HR, Finance, Marketing and Operations Management.

Which factors make these PGDM programs the best for the students to opt for?

"These programs will offer tremendous job opportunities in upcoming time"

There are several different and actually unique factors in each program that make them best suited for students. Below are some of them for each course that we are offering at our institute:

  • PGDM in Infrastructure Management: The objective of the course is to transform Engineers to techno-managers as per the industry requirement. Every year, about 10 million people move from rural areas to cities. India's 100 Smart Cities Mission was launched in June 2015 and has committed Central Government funding of $9–11 billion. By 2030, the transport sector is expected to attract over 60 percent of infrastructure investment in India. India will become the world's third-largest aviation market. The maintenance and repair operations market is expected to grow at 6.7 percent per annum to reach $5.7 billion in the next 10 years. These statistics indicate that in the coming years there is a lot of potential for Engineers in Infrastructure Management.
  • PGDM in Industrial Safety and Environment Management: The main responsibility of an industrial safety manager is to reduce the chance of risks, and accidents and accomplish proficiencies of risk and safety management. And as per the government's recent Security Act, it is obligatory to appoint a safety officer in every industrial organization.

An individual opting for a career in this particular area will be getting ample career opportunities as a safety supervisor, environment safety manager, safety instructor, safety officer, risk management consultant, industrial hygienist and safety auditor, etc.

What would you say are the best practices of these courses you’re offering at your institute?

"Professional visits, case studies and seminars which are conducted regularly"

To give our students a real-time experience of the industrial world, we expose them to various sectors through case studies, seminars and industrial visits. We also conduct guest lecturers where we invite experts from reputed organizations to share their experiences and expectations with us. Apart from this, we also offer internships, placement training, mock interviews, training in computer skills like EXCEL, RS, SPSS and Tally and training on innovation and entrepreneurship to students.

What are some of the valuable insights of these PGDM programs?

"We take suggestions of all our stakeholders while including new concepts in the syllabus of these courses"

All the PGDM programs which we are offering in our institute are industry oriented. The syllabus for each of them is revised every 3 years after rigorous consultation with Academic Council members which comprises experts from industry, government departments, academics and consultancies. Apart from this emerging management and technical concepts are incorporated into the syllabus to make our students well versed with the latest topics like Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and IoT, etc. Lastly, we encourage our students to undergo value addition certification programs like ISO, Digital Marketing, PMP, etc.

How do these programs ensure the future preparedness of students?

"Proper guidance, technical training and events are organized to make them industry-ready"

We encourage our students to conduct different events to develop the skills of team building and leadership. They are also asked to give presentations during weekends to improve their communication skills and strengthen subject knowledge. In addition to all this, mentorship is given to students on an individual basis to solve their academic and personal issues. Last but not the least, placement training is offered to them by our personality development experts and HR managers from industry and technical domains.

How did you train your faculty to deliver these programs to the students?

"We enhance their skills and upgrade them through FDPs"

Although all our faculties are highly qualified and extensively experienced, whenever we feel it's needed we train them on the latest technologies through Faculty Development Programs. They are trained in examination reforms.

How do you build an industry connectedness with these programs?

"By bringing best training programs for students in partnership with reputed organizations"

We have signed various MoU with different industries, academic institutions and research organizations to bring the best learning and growth opportunities for our students. And in partnership with institutions and industry experts, we conduct numerous training programs and seminars regularly.

Which challenges are you facing while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

"Making students aware of potential career opportunities is quite hard for us"

Nowadays students get fascinated by the latest buzzwords like AI, IoT, BlockChain and Data Science, etc. So the main challenge in front of us currently is to create awareness in students of the specialized programs which we are offering in our institute. Because they are still unaware of multiple things on the potential requirements which are present in different sectors.

What are the types of projects that the students are working on through these programs?

"Our students are working on different projects under the guidance of their personal mentors"

Currently, our students are doing internships and projects in their area of specialization in the relevant industries. And their mentors including our Principal and Faculty Members make them industry-ready by teaching necessary skills, doing their SWOT analysis and guiding them on how to overcome their weaknesses and develop their strengths. Because we believe that every student is different from others.
