Business Schools: Placement Drives Conducted Virtually Without any Interruption; Check Details Here

Business schools across India have successfully conducted virtual summer placements and bag a good number of offers even amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Internship opportunities are provided to 1st-year management students in the summer placement drive.

As per reports, around 20-30% of the pre-placement offers received by students come through summer internships. Hence summer internships play a major part in placing students in a better position during the final placement process.

With the impact of the pandemic in revenue streams and decrease in employment requirement of corporates, B-schools were expecting an impact on the placements. However, by initiating a slew of measures like extending the placement window, making the entire process virtual, and inviting more companies, Business schools ensured a smooth and seamless placement process.

To ensure that there are no disruptions in its placement process, IIM Calcutta revamped the entire structure to create 3 clusters scheduled on November 23, 26, and 28. The clusters were ranked by student preference and based on the business competencies of the firm.

Abhishek Goel, Chairperson CDPO said, “The key task in the uncertain situation was to maintain an easy flow of information and impart clarity to all stakeholders to help them quickly arrive at decisions. The student team did a wonderful job to create a multi-tier communication and coordination system while maintaining our very high internal standards for all stakeholders. Our technical processes are very robust that could successfully deal with a fully online placement process or any mix thereof,”
