Earlier, it was informed that the Odisha Board will bring about major changes in the board exam pattern in view of COVID-19 pandemic. Schools have been shut since March 2020, and online classes have almost disrupted the conventional method of classroom teaching.

Owing to this, the board has decided to bring this modification to compensate for the academic loss. Even during the exams, schools will be required to maintain all social distancing norms and COVID-19 protocol, hence the revision was expected.

In December 2020, the Odisha Education Minister announced that the 10th and 12th Board exams will be offline. Exam guidelines, along with the schedule are yet to be released by the exam authority.
