BSE Odisha 10th Exam 2021: Odisha CM Announces Exam Fee Waiver Due to COVID-19; Read Details Here


Odisha Chief Minister has announced that no exam fees will be charged for students who have registered for BSE Odisha 10th Exam 2021, instead, fees will be paid by the government.

Keeping in mind the coronavirus pandemic, and its effect on the livelihood of people, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made the decision to ensure that no students miss out on the BSE Odisha 10th Exam 2021.

As per the decision made, students who are facing financial difficulties, and inability to pay the examination fee, will not have to worry about it, as the government will fill the exam fee on behalf of students. 

According to BSE Odisha 10th Exam 2021 notice released, candidates were requested to pay an application fee of INR 420 in order to appear for the High School Certificate examination. With CM’s decision of exam fee waiver, students will no longer have to pay the application fee. 

Earlier, in one of his statements, Naveen Patnaik said, "No student will be denied the opportunity to appear in the annual board examination for class 10th due to financial constraints”. 

As a fact, the Odisha Government has declared that offline classes will be conducted only for students who are appearing for the state board examinations. BSE Odisha Board Exams 2021 for Class 10 will be conducted on May 3 while Class 12 exams from May 15 and practical exams from April 27-May 2. 

He further added that the Odisha government is ready to bear 27 crores in order to support the education of more than 6 lakh students in the states. In the past 9 months, the state of education has been affected a lot due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as students were unable to attend the physical classes. 

Additionally, the Odisha Government has taken a step towards reopening of schools in the states, as board examinations are approaching and students need physical classes in order to better prepare for the same. 

Schools across the Odisha state will reopen after an imposed shutdown of 9 months for students of class 10th and 12th. The state government is planning to provide at least 100 days of regular classes for students who will be appearing for the board examination in May 2021.
