December 31, 2020: Bihar Education Department has announced that students of Class 9 will be appearing for their annual exam on March 4, 2021. The Bihar class 9 exams will be conducted after 3 months of regular classes.
The State Government has given a green light to operate Bihar school activities to prevent delay in the next academic session. Around 13.17 Lakh students enrolled in Class 9 in the academic session 2020-21.

Giriwar Dayal Singh, director of secondary education department, attended a meeting on December 30 to review the preparations done for reopening the Bihar schools across the state. The state will be following the SOPs and guidelines issued for reopening schools from January 4, 2021.
The education department has released the academic calendar for the academic year 2021-22. As per the schedule the first term examination for the class 9 will be conducted on July 23 while the second term will be held on September 21 following the final examination.
On the other hand, class 11 students will be appearing for the annual exam on May 10 and their performance will be discussed briefly with the PTA meeting after 21 days of internal assessment.
Earlier, the department had promoted the Bihar schools students from class 1-9 and 11 without conducting the annual examination for the sake of the pandemic situation.
Patna University is making arrangements to resume offline classes from January 4, 2021. NK Jha, dean of students’ welfare at Patna University says the classes will be conducted with 50% capacity to maintain social distancing with no extra curricular activities involved.
