Technical Education Regulator, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has collaborated with private firm Tableau to provide education in data analytics skills to students and teachers from 1000 institutes.
Under this collaboration of AICTE with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep licenses, interested students and teachers will get access to e-learning materials, sample curriculum, and guidance and classes from top university professors in the field of data skills.

Referring to the initiative, Tableau officials said, “Through this partnership, Tableau will provide AICTE with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep licenses, access to eLearning, and sample curriculum material co-created with university professors for educators to get started teaching analytics in classrooms".
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has recently appointed over 200 educators as Tableau champions. The educators will be responsible for teaching students and teachers with the help of various workshops, and e-learning tools.
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) appointed educators from top institutes will develop data skill courses for interested students under this collaboration.
“There remains a growing need to bridge the data skills gap in India. Coursera’s Global Skills Report 2021 revealed how Indians ranked low in data analysis and data visualization skills proficiency at 25% and 38% respectively” the official statement further added.
The statement further said that despite having high proficiency in machine learning and mathematics, the data for data analysis, and data visualization in India is still low.
Adding to the same, Anand Ekambaram, Tableau Country Manager of India stated that in 2020, we have noted the requirement of data skill education and its effect. We are glad to partner up with AICTE in order to offer education in the data skill domain to interested candidates.
Referring to the same, Chandrasekhar Buddha, CCO, AICTE, said: “We are happy to collaborate with Tableau to bring data skills into higher education nationwide”.
“Skill sets are changing across the globe to accommodate a data-driven world. It is increasingly valuable for knowledge workers across all industries to use data to problem solve and make decisions” he further added.
