AICTE Pragati and Saksham Scholarship 2020: Last Date to Apply Extended to 31st December


All India Council for Technical Education has extended the deadline to apply for its Pragati and Saksham scholarship schemes till December 31, 2020.

AICTE has introduced the Pragati scholarship for girl students and Saksham scholarship scheme for Specially Abled Students. Both the scholarship will help the students to pursue their education at graduation and Diploma level.

The scholarship will provide the amount of INR 30,000 for the first year of course for Pragati and Saksham scholarship scheme.

AICTE Pragati and Saksham Scholarship 2020: Purpose

AICTE aimed at providing assistance for Advancement of Girls pursuing Technical Education. Education is one of the most important means of empowering women with the knowledge, skill and self-confidence necessary to participate fully in the development process.

It also aims at encouragement and support to specially abled children to pursue Technical Education.

AICTE Pragati and Saksham Scholarship 2020: Eligibility

Below are the points to be considered before applying into the scholarship:

  • Two Girls Child per family are eligible, who’s family income is not more than 8 lakh per annum during the preceding financial year (in case of married girl, the income of parents/in-laws, whichever is higher will be considered)
  • Specially Abled Student, having disability of not less than 40% and family income not more than 8 lakhs per annum during the preceding financial year (in case of married girl, the income of parents/in-laws, whichever is higher will be considered).
  • Reservation policy will be applicable upto -15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 27% for OBC candidates.

AICTE Pragati and Saksham Scholarship 2020: Benefits

Below rewards will be given to the selected candidates:

  • Amount of scholarship: Tuition Fee of Rs. 30,000/-or at actual, whichever is less 
  • Rs.2000/-per month for 10 months as incidentals charges each year.

Students can apply for the scholarship scheme via online and offline mode.

Below are the steps for applying to the scholarship via online mode:

Step 2: Scroll to the AICTE Pragati and Saksham Scholarship Scheme in the homepage

Step 3: Check the rules and regulations for the scheme and click on the new registration

Step 4: Log in with the registered email and password

Step 5: Fill in the application form and fill in the required details

Below documents are needed to apply for the scholarship:

  1. Mark Sheet of standard Xth /XIIth / others as applicable.
  2. Annual family Income Certificate for the preceding financial year in the prescribed format issued by not below the rank of Tahsildar
  3. Disability certificate issued by Competent Authority
  4. Admission letter issued by Directorate of Technical Education for the admission in Diploma/Degree course.
  5. Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/ Head of the Institute. 
  6. Tuition fee receipt.
  7. AADHAR seeded Bank Pass Book in the name of the student indicating Account number, IFSC code and Photograph
  8. Caste Certificate For SC/ST/OBC category.
  9. AADHAR card.
  10. Annual family Income Certificate for the preceding financial year in the prescribed format issued by not below the rank of Tahsildar
