UG Admission 2021: All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has approved the request of fourteen engineering colleges across eight states to offer admission to over 1000 students in undergraduate programs which will now be taught in their regional languages.
In accordance with the approval received by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), various engineering colleges across the country will now offer UG Admission 2021 in regional languages for the academic session 2021-2023.
Out of Fourteen engineering colleges that requested AICTE to allow them to offer UG courses in regional languages, four colleges are from Uttar Pradesh, two from Rajasthan and one from Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand will now offer UG Program in the Hindi language.
Additionally, colleges from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu will now offer interested candidates a chance to study their desired undergraduate course in Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, and Tamil languages respectively.

All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has given its approval for selected branches, which include; computer science, electrical and electronics engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and information technology among others.
In line with National Education Policy 2021, the AICTE has now permitted colleges to offer education in regional language. With this decision, this is the first year where the B.Tech programs will be offered to students in various regional languages.
As per the decision, students will now be taught B.Tech programs in 11 regional languages, such as; Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, and Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, and Oriya.
Referring to the initiative, AICTE Chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe said “Permission to teach engineering in regional languages has only been given to [National Board of Accreditation] NBA-accredited programs"
"The translation of SWAYAM lectures for first-year students is complete and we are now roping in teachers to also translate existing textbooks and also write their own in regional languages" he further added.
He further added that as per the market demand, we will also include English in the regional languages program. We will retain the English material for students who wish to pursue the courses in the English language.
