All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has collaborated with Microsoft, India, to offer internship and certificate courses under Future Ready Talent program. The program has been designed in line with Skill India vision, to upskill and impact employability of 1.5 lakh students in the country from 2022-24.

Microsoft will offer learning modules, and certification on various topics including Cloud Computing, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security under this collaboration. The internship program will teach students in relevant technologies such as Data and AI, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security. Industry experts will mentor them on critical projects in a sandbox environment and in this way gain access to potential employers.
In a statement, Chief Learning Officer of Microsoft India, Indrani Choudhary said, AICTE will ensure if the internship curriculum is aligned to National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Choudhary further said, the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated requirements for up-skilling. Therefore, the internship program has been designed with a view to provide access to skills and knowledge to make them industry and job-ready in a digital economy. In order to empower India's youth and build a strong skilling ecosystem, Microsoft, India has a well-established collaboration with AICTE.

AICTE, Microsoft’s Future Ready Talent Program 2021: Eligibility
Future Ready Talent Program will be the first virtual program available for all the higher education students across the country. With the first 50,000 registrations, the inaugural batch of the program will be closed.
Notably, this internship program is applicable to the students pursuing their second year or above in technical or non-technical backgrounds. The program is free of cost with no stipends to be paid to students. Furthermore, students who are committed to pursue a career in technology and are willing to invest approximately 190 hours to the program over a duration of nine weeks can apply for the internship program.

All the eligible students can apply for the internship program by visiting the official website of Future Ready Talent. Interested candidates have to register for the available batches. The online registration process for the first batch has already begun on September 15, 2021.

The internship program will include the following:
- In association with Microsoft, two exclusive career fairs will be hosted for students that will expose them to respective industry giants to network and showcase their projects and skills.
- Further, it will offer a 50% discount on industry certifications to all the Future Ready Talent students.
- AICTE will support the internship program with the outreach through its network of STEM colleges and this will help students to earn an academic credit when they complete their internships successfully, she added.
- Students will have access to the best developer tools through the GitHub Student Developer Pack and they will get a chance to collaborate on projects with many other developers on GitHub.
- They will be trained on industry readiness sessions and they will be mentored to use their tech skills to address challenges in four categories namely Education, Healthcare, Financial Services and Earth.
- Students will be required to transform ideas into action by building a purpose-driven application using Microsoft Azure technology as a part of the internship curriculum.
The internship program is a partnership between industry and the government. It will be supported by NASSCOM Futureskills Prime and AICTE and mapped to industry-aligned National Occupational and NEP 2020 standards.
