IISc Bangalore provides scholarship to students on the basis of merits obtained in the qualifying exam. All the students are eligible for scholarship/fellowship from the date of joining except for the MBA and MSc students. Amount given at each degree level is mentioned in the table below:

Terms and conditions:

  • All the students joining the institute (except for MSc and MBA) are eligible to receive scholarship from CSIR/ UGC/ DBT/ ICMR/ MHRD/ AICTE/ DAE (NBHM)/ DST. To receive the amount, they are required to send joining report to the concerned authority for activating their scholarship/fellowship.
  • Companies such as GE/ INFOSYS/ IBM/ HP/ TATA/ PHILIPS/ BELL LAB/ MICROSOFT/ Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DietY) also provide scholarships to the deserving students.
  • These scholarships are provided for a minimum of 2 years in MTech and MDes and maximum for 5 years in case of PhD scholars.
  • For MTech, MDes, and PhD programs, students are required to complete the course to get the scholarship. In case, if they leave the course in midway, entire amount of the scholarship is to be returned to the institute before leaving the program.

Who are not eligible for IISc Bangalore Scholarships?

Ques. Which courses can I apply for at IISc Bangalore after 10th?

Ans. There is no course at IISc Bangalore that can be pursued just after 10th. To be eligible for IISc Bangalore courses, the candidate must clear 10+2 in PCM first. Post the completion of Class 12, candidates can apply for UG courses through KVPY, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, or NEET scores.

Ques. Can I take admissions to M.Tech at IISC Bangalore without applying for GATE exam?

Ans. As of now, there are no non-GATE admissions available for M. Tech, M. Des or M. Mgt courses at IISc. After qualifying GATE, one needs to qualify the successive interview and aptitude round as well for final seat allotment.

Ans. Yes, at IISc Bangalore, there is an active placement cell OCCaP that annually conducts placement and internship drives for eligible students of final year.
